Everyone should have the opportunity to play with Steampunk!

“OMG YOU GUYS it has come to my attention that SOMEONE on the internet is saying that my fictional 19th century zombies are NOT SCIENTIFICALLY SOUND. Naturally, I am crushed. To think, IF ONLY I’d consulted with a zombologist or two before sitting down to write, I could’ve avoided ALL THIS EMBARRASSMENT.”

The Steampunk World’s Fair began in 2009 (or perhaps sooner, when we started incorporating Steampunk into the Wicked Faire, depending on how you look at it) – and while we’ve seen and participated in a lot of extraordinary Steampunk projects, one thing has remained the same:

Steampunk is for everyone – and not just as a slogan, but as a practical reality. If you come to our events, you’re likely to see some very elaborate costumes and cosplay… next to some very relaxed attire. You’re likely to hear Steampunk music… and dozens of other kinds of music, as well. You can participate in Steampunk by painstakingly handcrafting an elaborate working Steampunk exoskeleton which will allow you to lift the hotel and carry it off in your airship…

….or you can buy a hat at Spirit Halloween, like I did.

This panel discussion will discuss the availability of Steampunk, the ease of being a part of it and the infinite creativity once you get into it. (Can you tell we like this stuff?)
