“I’m sorry. Don’t you mean, ‘FaeriePUCK?”

~A certain Fairy who will remain nameless.

No-one gets to define your ‘punk for you, but a general idea is that Faeriepunk might take traditional ideas about Faeries (and by the Great Lobster, there are a whole lot of ideas about Faeries) ~ and play around with them in unusual, different, anachronistic, often transgressive ways.

Or it could just be that you like wings with your goggles. I mean, that works too.

In this panel, we’ll be discussing everything from traditional depictions of Faeries in modern fantasy (Tolkien, Froud) to extremely untraditional depictions (Neil Gaiman’s Puck, Jane Yolen’s Faeries) – to new interpretations (anyone seen the Faeries in the Foglios’ “Girl Genius”?)

Got favorite Faerie works? Want to suggest them for our Faeriepunk panel? Feel free to get in touch with us! Otherwise, we’ll tell you about some of our favorites!
